Managed IT Services for Syracuse & Central New York businesses.
One local team runs your network, devices, security, and backups for a flat monthly fee, so your people can do their actual jobs. We have done this since 2005, on site across all of Upstate New York from one office in Fayetteville, and at the other locations our multi site clients run, with a real person who answers at (315) 682-6372.

Managed IT is when one provider runs and supports your whole IT setup, the network, computers, security, and backups, for a predictable monthly fee instead of charging by the hour when something breaks. Express IT Solutions is a Central New York managed service provider founded in 2005, based at 511 East Genesee St in Fayetteville. We work on site across all of Upstate New York, and clients who run more than one office get the same team at every location, including the ones we fly to. Our managed IT includes helpdesk support, 24/7 monitoring, patching, endpoint and email security, managed backup, and a yearly tech plan, delivered remotely and on-site. Call (315) 682-6372.
Everything that keeps a business online, handled by one team.
No single tool fixes IT. It takes a stack of them, watched by people who know your setup. Here is what we look after.
Helpdesk & support
Your team gets a real person when something breaks, by phone, email, or remote session. We fix it and tell you what happened in plain English.
24/7 monitoring
We watch your servers, network, and machines around the clock and step in on alerts, usually before anyone in your office notices.
Patching & updates
Windows, software, and firmware kept current and tested, so you are not the business that got hit by a hole everyone else patched months ago.
Cybersecurity
Endpoint protection, email filtering, and the security habits that actually stop the attacks small businesses get hit with most.
Backup & recovery
Your data backed up, checked, and recoverable. When a drive dies or someone clicks the wrong link, you are back, not starting over.
Strategy & planning
A yearly tech plan and budget so IT spending stops being a surprise. We tell you what is coming and what is worth doing.
We already run your network. Now we can build your AI.
Most firms make you choose: an IT company that keeps the lights on, or a separate AI shop that has never touched your systems. We are both. The same local team that secures your network and answers your calls also builds AI agents and workflow automation, safely, on the data and tools you already use.
- One team, one number. Your IT, security, and AI questions go to the same people who already know your setup.
- AI on a secure foundation. We will not bolt automation onto a network that is not patched, backed up, and protected first.
- No out-of-town handoffs. Local since 2005, on-site when it matters, not a remote vendor in another time zone.

What is the difference between managed IT, break-fix and co-managed IT?
Break-fix means you pay by the hour after something breaks. Managed IT means one provider runs and watches the whole setup for a flat monthly fee. Co-managed IT means that provider works alongside your own IT person, covering the parts they cannot. Here is the honest difference, so you can see which fits where you are now.
| How it works | Break-fix | Managed IT | Co-managed IT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | Very small offices that rarely need help | Businesses with no in-house IT | Teams with an internal IT person who needs backup |
| How you pay | By the hour, when something breaks | Flat monthly fee | Flat monthly, scoped to a shared workload |
| 24/7 monitoring | Not included | Included | Included |
| Security & patching kept current | Only when you ask | Proactive | Shared |
| Cost is predictable | No, varies by incident | Yes | Yes |
| Best when | Downtime barely costs you anything | You want IT off your plate entirely | Your IT person is stretched thin |
Inclusions shown are a starting point and can be tailored to your business. We confirm the exact scope and response times in writing before you sign anything.
What is a managed service provider (MSP)?
A managed service provider (MSP) is a company that proactively manages and supports another business’s IT systems, networks, and security for a predictable monthly fee instead of charging per incident. Instead of calling someone only when a computer breaks, you hand the whole job to a team that monitors everything, keeps it patched and backed up, and fixes problems, often before you notice them. Express IT has run managed IT for Central New York businesses since 2005.
| The shift | Break-fix (old way) | Managed IT (MSP) |
|---|---|---|
| When you get help | After it breaks | Before it breaks |
| What you pay | Hourly, unpredictable | Flat monthly fee |
| Who watches the systems | Nobody, until you call | A team, 24/7 |
| Incentive | More breakage means more billing | Fewer problems means a better fit |
How much do managed IT services cost in Central New York?
Managed IT is billed as a flat monthly fee, usually per user or per device, and it is scoped to your business rather than sold off a shelf. We do not publish a figure here because a number without your details is a guess, and a guess is worth nothing to you. What we can tell you is exactly what moves it. Six things set the level: how many people and devices you support, what you already run, how much security you need, whether you carry compliance obligations, how much on-site time you want, and how fast you need us to respond. Tell us those six on a short call and you get one flat monthly figure in writing. The call is free and there is no obligation.
| What we look at when we scope a plan | Which way it moves the monthly figure |
|---|---|
| People and devices | Up with every extra user, laptop, server and site we have to watch, patch and support. |
| What you already run | Down for a standardized, mostly cloud setup. Up for aging on-premises servers and one-off software nobody else uses. |
| Security level | Up as you move from basic antivirus to EDR, email security and staff awareness training. |
| Compliance obligations | Up where a regulator or an insurer wants documentation, reporting and evidence rather than just working systems. |
| On-site time | Down for remote-first support with visits as needed. Up for scheduled on-site hours every week. |
| Response times | Up for guaranteed fast response, after-hours cover and weekend support. |
This is the shape of the engagement, not a quote, and there are no figures on this page on purpose. For what each package includes, see our managed IT packages. Either way we confirm your scope, your response times and your monthly figure in writing before you commit.
Does Express IT come on-site, or is it all remote?
Both, and the two are different areas. We are based at 511 East Genesee St in Fayetteville, and our on site coverage is all of Upstate New York, the whole region rather than a short list of villages. If you run more than one office you get the same team at every one of them, and for the locations too far to drive, we fly. Travel is planned and agreed with you before anything is booked. A lot gets handled remotely anyway because it is faster, but that is the difference between a real local MSP and a remote vendor: when a problem needs hands on the hardware, a person you have met shows up.
- On site across all of Upstate New York. Syracuse out to Rochester, Buffalo, Albany, Binghamton and Watertown, all worked from Fayetteville. The towns we are in constantly are Syracuse, Fayetteville, Baldwinsville, Cazenovia, Chittenango, Lafayette, Jamesville, Liverpool, Manlius, Minoa, and Tully, and the coverage does not stop at their borders.
- Multi site clients, every location. If you run more than one office, every site is monitored, patched, secured and supported remotely from Fayetteville on one standard, so the branch offices get what headquarters gets. When a site needs hands on it we go, and for the ones too far to drive, we fly.
- Remote-first for speed on the everyday fixes, so you are not waiting on a drive-time for a password reset.
- A real local number, (315) 682-6372, answered by techs who know your setup.
What is included in Express IT managed IT
A starting checklist of what a managed IT plan with us covers. We tailor the exact mix to your business and confirm it in writing.
- Helpdesk support by phone, email, and remote session, with a real person on the other end.
- 24/7 monitoring and alerting on servers, network, and workstations.
- Patch and update management for Windows, software, and firmware.
- Endpoint protection with modern antivirus and, on higher tiers, EDR.
- Email security and phishing protection to stop the most common attacks.
- Managed backup and recovery that is tested, not just turned on.
- Microsoft 365 and cloud management for accounts, licenses, and data.
- A yearly technology plan and budget from a vCIO, so spending stops being a surprise.
A local IT department, without the local payroll.
Hiring one in-house IT person costs more than a whole team from us, and that person takes vacations. We have been doing this in Central New York since 2005. We know the businesses here because we are one of them.
- You get a team, not a single point of failure. Someone is always around when something breaks.
- We show up. On site anywhere in Upstate New York, from Syracuse and Fayetteville out to Rochester, Albany and Binghamton. If you run offices further out, we come to those too, including the ones we fly to.
- Flat, predictable billing. One monthly number, so IT stops being a surprise line item.
- Security is not an upsell. It is baked into how we run every machine we touch.
What should you check before switching IT providers?
Changing IT providers goes wrong in the handover, not in the sales meeting. These are the eight things to get in writing before you give notice, whoever you end up hiring.
- Contract exit terms. Find your notice period, any early termination fee, and the date the agreement auto-renews. Work backwards from that date.
- Who owns the documentation. Network diagrams, password records, and vendor account details should belong to you, not to the provider who wrote them.
- Admin credential handover. Ask for a written list of every administrator account on your systems, who holds it today, and the date it transfers.
- Backup verification. Ask for proof of a recent successful restore, not a screenshot showing that backups are switched on. Those are different things.
- License transfer. Microsoft 365, antivirus, and firewall licenses bought through a provider often sit in that provider’s tenant. Confirm they move to you.
- Onboarding window. Ask how long the takeover takes, what happens to tickets that are already open, and who covers you during the changeover.
- Response-time definition. Fast response means nothing until it is defined. Ask what counts as a response, what counts as a fix, and the target for each.
- What unlimited excludes. Most unlimited support plans carve out projects, hardware, after-hours work, and on-site visits. Get the exclusions in writing.
We answer all eight in writing before you sign, and we will read your current provider’s agreement with you if that helps. Call (315) 682-6372.
The stuff people ask before switching
How much do your managed IT packages cost?
It depends on how many people and devices you have and what is already in place, so we quote it rather than guess on a webpage. Most plans are a flat monthly fee, billed per user or per device. Call us at (315) 682-6372 and we will give you a real number, usually on the first conversation.
What is a managed service provider, in plain terms?
It is outsourcing your IT to a team that runs it for a fixed monthly fee instead of paying by the hour when things break. We handle the support, monitoring, security, backups, and planning so you do not have to hire and manage that in-house.
Do you actually come on-site, or is it all remote?
Both. A lot gets handled remotely because it is faster, but we are local and we come to you when it makes sense. On site we cover all of Upstate New York, and the towns we are in constantly are Syracuse, Fayetteville, Baldwinsville, Cazenovia, Chittenango, Lafayette, Jamesville, Liverpool, Manlius, Minoa and Tully. If you run more than one office we cover every location you have, including the ones we fly to, with travel planned and agreed before anything is booked.
What is the difference between managed IT and co-managed IT?
Managed IT means we run your whole IT setup for you. Co-managed IT means we work alongside your existing internal IT person or team, covering the parts they do not have time or tools for, like 24/7 monitoring, security, or after-hours support. Both are a flat monthly fee. We will tell you honestly which one fits your situation.
Can we switch from our current IT person or provider?
Yes, and we do it all the time. We map what you have, take over the day-to-day, and keep things running through the handover. You will not be left in a gap.
Are we locked into a long contract?
We keep terms reasonable and spell everything out before you sign. The goal is to earn the renewal by doing good work, not to trap you. We will walk you through the agreement line by line.
TELL US WHAT IS BREAKING
Tell us what is not working.
One machine or the whole setup, describe it in your own words. We will tell you what we would do about it.
- It goes to our office in Fayetteville, not a call centre.
- We will tell you straight if there is a cheaper way to fix it.
- No revenue question, no budget question, no qualification hoops.
Or just call
That line reaches a person who knows the work. If you want an answer now instead of later today, calling is faster, and we would rather say that than pretend the form is.
The form is the better route if you would rather write it down than say it out loud, or you are somewhere you cannot take a call.
(315) 682-6372Let us find the right package for your business.
Tell us how many people you have and what is driving you nuts. We will scope a plan and give you a flat monthly number. Free, no obligation, no hard sell.
Free 20-minute IT review. We will tell you straight, even if the answer is none at all.
