Computer network support for Syracuse and Central New York.

Nobody thinks about the network until the Wi-Fi drops in the middle of a call, the VPN kicks everyone off at 2pm, or the one switch nobody has touched since the last office move finally quits. Then it is the only thing anyone thinks about.

Express IT Solutions has designed, installed and repaired business networks across Central New York since 2005, on site from one office at 511 East Genesee St in Fayetteville, a short drive from downtown Syracuse. We handle the whole stack: cabling, switching, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPN and the monitoring that catches problems early. One call, (315) 682-6372, covers all of it. The service areas page maps that coverage town by town, with distances from our door.

Network work we handle

Business Wi-Fi that covers the whole building

Dead zones, dropped calls and the conference room where nothing loads are usually placement and design problems, not “buy a stronger router” problems. We design and install business grade Wi-Fi, including UniFi deployments, with access points where the building actually needs them and a guest network that stays out of your business traffic.

Switching and cabling

New drops for a growing office, a wiring closet that has become an archaeology site, or a clean build for a new space. We run, terminate and label cabling, and set up the switching behind it, so the next person who opens that closet can tell what is what.

Firewalls and VPN

The line between your business and the internet deserves better than the default box from the ISP. We configure business firewalls and secure remote access, so working from home does not mean punching holes in your network. Deeper protection, endpoint security, email filtering and the rest, lives with our cybersecurity services.

Network troubleshooting

Slow file transfers, intermittent drops, devices that vanish from the network, the printer that only works on Thursdays. We find causes rather than restarting things and hoping: it is diagnosis work, and after twenty one years there are not many symptoms we have not met. Day to day “is the internet down” calls also get first response through our IT helpdesk, so your people get a person on the problem without waiting for a site visit.

Office moves and new locations

The network is the part of an office move that cannot slip a week. We plan the cutover, prep the new space, and have people and internet working at the new address on schedule. This is a core part of our business IT services project work.

Ongoing network monitoring

For clients on our managed IT plans, the network does not wait for a human to notice a problem: monitoring runs around the clock and we step in on alerts. If you would rather never think about your network again, that is the page to read next.

Every network job starts with a free site survey

Guessing at a network over the phone produces bad quotes, so we do not. We come out, walk the space, look at the closet, count the drops and the dead zones, and then put a scope and a price in writing. The survey is free, and there is no obligation on the other side of it.

The survey also tends to catch what you did not call about: the switch running hot in a sealed cabinet, the one access point quietly carrying half the building, the cable run that fails every time the loading dock door closes. Better to hear about those in a written scope than at 9am on the day they quit.

Request a free site survey or call (315) 682-6372 and tell us about the building.

Fix it, upgrade it, or let us run it

One time fixes

Pay as you go, no contract: $219 an hour on site and $199 an hour remote, billed in 30 minute increments, from a published rate card you can read before you call. See the pay as you go page.

Projects

Installs, rewires, Wi-Fi overhauls and moves get a fixed written quote after the site survey, so the number cannot drift once the work starts.

Ongoing care

Our managed IT packages put the network, and everything attached to it, under continuous monitoring, patching and security for a flat published per seat fee. Most network emergencies we see are problems a monitored network would have flagged weeks earlier.

Local, on site, and honest about travel

Network work is physical work. Somebody has to stand in the closet, trace the cable and climb the ladder, which is why a local firm beats a national one for this job every time. We work on site across all of Upstate New York from Fayetteville, and where a visit is far enough that travel adds cost, you are told the figure up front, before anything is booked.

We have done this since 2005, under the same ownership from the same town, and hold 4.9 stars from 154 reviews. If you want the design thinking without the install, our IT consulting page covers assessments and second opinions on someone else’s network plan.

Network support questions, answered straight

Can you fix slow Wi-Fi in our office?

Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs we get. Office Wi-Fi problems are usually design problems: too few access points, bad placement, interference or consumer gear doing a business job. We start with a free site survey, find the actual cause, and quote the fix in writing.

Do you install new networks, or only fix existing ones?

Both. We design and build networks for new offices and renovations, cabling, switching, Wi-Fi and firewall, and we repair and upgrade networks other people built. Nobody has to apologize to us for the state of the wiring closet; we have seen worse.

Do you work with UniFi and Ubiquiti equipment?

Yes. We design, install and support UniFi networks for businesses, and we also work with the equipment you already own. If your current gear is worth keeping, we will say so rather than quote a rip and replace.

What does network support cost in Syracuse?

Hourly work is published: $219 an hour on site and $199 an hour remote, billed in 30 minute increments, no contract. Projects are quoted fixed after a free site survey. Ongoing monitoring and support comes with our managed IT packages at a flat published per seat fee.

Can you keep monitoring the network after you fix it?

Yes. That is exactly what our managed IT plans do: continuous monitoring, patching and security across the network and everything on it, for a flat monthly fee, so the next problem gets caught as an alert instead of an outage.

Do you run cabling?

Yes. New drops, terminations, cleanups and labeling, as part of a bigger network job or as its own job. It is included in the site survey scope, so the quote covers the real number of drops, not an estimate from a phone call.

When it was urgent

Two public Google reviews, quoted word for word.

“Mat did an outstanding job assisting us with a recent computer emergency. Our bank account and an Amazon account were hacked. As we were unable to bring it to the store, he did a service remotely, removing anything that could cause future problems.”

Gary Whitaker · public Google review

“Once again prompt, timely, affordable and accurate customer service has put me and my laptop back to normal. Over the years it has only taken one visit or call, and my problems are solved. Thanks again Craig.”
