Setting up in Syracuse for the Micron build? Your IT should be the easy part.

Express IT Solutions has run IT for Central New York businesses since 2005. We stand up offices, networks, Microsoft 365 and cybersecurity for the contractors, suppliers and engineering firms arriving around the semiconductor project in Clay.

Express IT Solutions is an independent IT company and has no affiliation with Micron Technology. Project figures are public information.

Express IT Solutions is an independent managed IT provider in Syracuse, NY serving the businesses arriving around the Micron semiconductor project in Clay: construction contractors and trade subs, materials and equipment suppliers, engineering and inspection firms, logistics operators, workforce housing providers, and companies opening their first Central New York location. We handle office stand-ups, networks and Wi-Fi, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, day-to-day helpdesk, and AI consulting, from offices in Fayetteville and downtown Syracuse. We are not affiliated with Micron Technology in any way. We work for the ecosystem building around the project, from site trailers near Route 31 to offices on the downtown grid.

The project is ahead of schedule. Most office plans are not.

Ground broke at White Pine Commerce Park on January 16, 2026. Six months later Micron poured first concrete and said the work was running ahead of plan, with roughly 200 trucks moving through the site daily and a construction workforce projected to reach 4,500 at peak. Bechtel was named construction partner for the first phase in June 2026. Suppliers are already landing: a Korean specialty gas producer and a workforce housing operator announced Onondaga County operations in March 2026, and the county is assembling roughly 200 acres across Route 31 for a supplier park.

When a project this size accelerates, the companies serving it get compressed timelines. A regional director gets eight weeks to open a Syracuse office. A subcontractor wins a package and needs a trailer online before mobilization. A supplier’s HQ is in Texas or Korea and nobody on staff has ever ordered an internet circuit in Onondaga County.

That is the gap this page is about. The pattern is well established around new fabs: when Samsung built in Taylor, Texas, materials suppliers built plants nearby and equipment vendors sent in field engineering teams by the hundred. Every one of those operations needed a working office before it needed anything else: a circuit, a firewall, Wi-Fi, a tenant, laptops that arrive configured, and a number to call when something breaks. None of that is your core business. It has been ours since 2005.

Office stand-ups

An office stand-up, in the right order

The internet circuit is almost always the longest lead item, so it gets ordered first, the day you engage us. Everything else runs in parallel while the carrier works.

We stage your firewall, switching and Wi-Fi in our own office and configure it before it ever reaches your site. Your Microsoft 365 tenant gets built, or your existing HQ tenant gets extended to the new location, with identity, email, Teams and device enrollment ready before your first local hire starts. Laptops arrive set up, not in shrink wrap. If the building has no wired service yet, fixed wireless can carry the site until fiber is in.

Then the part that matters after week one: a helpdesk your Syracuse staff can actually call, with engineers who can be at the site because they live here.

What we handle for Micron-corridor businesses

Plain descriptions. You will ask for specifics on the first call anyway.

  • Office and site stand-ups

New office, new floor, new trailer. Circuit ordering, firewall, switching, Wi-Fi, printing, Microsoft 365 and configured endpoints, sequenced so the long lead items never block the rest. We have been standing up Central New York offices since 2005.

  • Managed IT and helpdesk

Published per-user plans at $65, $80 and $99 per user per month, so you can budget a Syracuse location before you sign the lease. Monitoring, patching, support and on-site work across Onondaga County; the full picture is on our managed IT and MSP business packages pages.

  • Microsoft 365

A new tenant built correctly, or your existing corporate tenant extended to the new site. Identity, email, Teams, SharePoint, device enrollment and sensible security defaults from day one, not retrofitted after the first incident.

  • Cybersecurity

Large projects push security expectations down their supply chains. Primes and GCs send questionnaires asking about MFA, endpoint protection, patching, backups, access control and incident response. We implement those controls and help you answer accurately. We set up the substance, not paperwork shortcuts; the details are on our cybersecurity page.

  • Multi-site and out-of-state HQ coordination

Your IT director in Dallas or Boise keeps the standards; we are the local hands. We already support many power plant and peaker plant clients across the country, from Upstate New York to California, run from Syracuse, so operating under a remote HQ is our normal mode. The pattern is written up on our multi-site support page.

  • AI consulting and AI agents

AI projects in production, built by a firm that has served this region since 2005. If you are opening a lean Syracuse operation, automation is how a small local team keeps up with a big scope. The full picture is on our AI agents Syracuse page.

On the jobsite

Contractors: trailers and temporary offices are a specialty, not an exception

A site trailer is a real office with worse power, worse weather and a harder deadline. We treat it that way.

  1. Walk the site. Power availability, carrier signal, where wired service exists and where it does not, and what your GC or prime requires from your systems before you mobilize.
  2. Stand it up. Firewall and Wi-Fi sized for the trailer and the yard, fixed wireless or 5G where no cable runs yet, printing and plan viewing that works with gloves on, Microsoft 365 and devices configured before delivery.
  3. Run it, then move it. Per-user support while the job runs. When you graduate from the trailer to a permanent office in Clay, Cicero, Salina or downtown, the same equipment and the same team move with you.

You came to Syracuse to build. The IT should never be the reason a crew stands around.

Straight answers for teams setting up near the project

The questions we actually get asked.

Is Express IT Solutions affiliated with Micron?

No. Express IT Solutions is an independent Syracuse IT company with no affiliation, partnership or vendor relationship with Micron Technology. We support the contractors, suppliers and other businesses setting up in Central New York around the project in Clay.

How quickly can you set up IT for a new office in Syracuse or Clay?

The internet circuit usually sets the pace, so we order it on day one and stage everything else in parallel. Firewall, Wi-Fi, Microsoft 365 and endpoints are prepared in our own office while the carrier provisions the circuit, and fixed wireless can bridge the gap when a site needs connectivity before wired service arrives.

Can you support a construction site trailer or temporary office?

Yes. We set up trailers and temporary offices with connectivity, Wi-Fi, printing and Microsoft 365, then move the same equipment to your permanent space when you outgrow the trailer.

Our headquarters is out of state. How do you work with our existing IT team?

We act as local hands for your headquarters and follow their standards. Your team keeps control of the tenant, the policies and the vendor choices, and we handle on-site work and day-to-day support for your Syracuse staff. We already support power plant clients as far as California, run from Syracuse NY, so remote-HQ arrangements are routine for us.

What do your managed IT plans cost?

Our published plans are $65, $80 and $99 per user per month. The three tiers differ in what they include, and the details are on our MSP business packages page.

A general contractor sent us a cybersecurity questionnaire. Can you help?

Yes. We implement the controls those questionnaires ask about, including MFA, endpoint protection, patching, backups and access reviews, and we help you answer accurately. We do not sell certifications or paperwork shortcuts; we put the controls in place so your answers are true.

Do you offer AI consulting in Syracuse?

Yes. Express IT has AI projects in production and has served Central New York businesses since 2005. The work ranges from simple automations to systems that do work a person would otherwise do, which matters when a new Syracuse office has to run lean.

Where are your offices, and how far will you travel?

We have two offices: 511 East Genesee St, Suite 8A in Fayetteville and 120 Madison St, Suite 1000 in downtown Syracuse. Within 50 miles of Syracuse, no questions asked, and all of Upstate New York is covered.
