IT support and computer repair in Syracuse, from 7.4 miles east.

Syracuse is the only city on this site and the county seat of Onondaga County. The office is not in it, and pretending otherwise is the first thing a reader checks. Express IT Solutions works from 511 East Genesee St in Fayetteville, 7.4 miles east of downtown in a straight line, on the same road: East Genesee Street is NY 5, and NY 5 runs into the city as Erie Boulevard East. Downtown is ZIP 13202. Call (315) 682-6372.

In short

Syracuse is a city and the county seat of Onondaga County, and it is 7.4 miles west of this office in a straight line. The office is in Fayetteville, not in the city. NY 5 connects the two: it is East Genesee Street at our door and Erie Boulevard East by the time it reaches Syracuse. Business networks, security work and repair, on site at a city address, in our office, or remote. Call (315) 682-6372.

What is different about IT work at a city address?

The building is usually somebody else’s. That single fact changes more city jobs than any technical detail, because a leased suite means the riser, the roof, the demarcation point and often the cabling between floors are not yours to touch. Before a network job in a city building is quoted, the question is who owns the drop, who has to be told, and how the landlord wants a contractor to get into the closet. Asking on day one is faster than finding out on the day of the cutover.

The second difference is that a Syracuse address is more likely to be a business with something to lose than a household with a slow laptop. That means the work leans toward networks that carry staff rather than one person, identity and email that has to stay up, security work that has to be evidenced rather than assumed, and recovery of data that somebody is going to ask about in a meeting. It is also why this page leads with the network and the security rather than with a screen replacement.

None of that rules out the ordinary. Syracuse households and one person businesses call about the same failing drives and the same rebuilds as everywhere else, and those jobs are frequently faster brought to the office in Fayetteville than worked in place. The city is close enough that the choice is genuinely open.

Where is the office, and how far do you travel?

We work on site across all of Upstate New York, from our offices at 511 East Genesee St in Fayetteville and 120 Madison St, Suite 1000 in downtown Syracuse. Clients who run more than one office are covered at every location, and where a location is far enough that driving does not make sense, that includes travel by air. Travel is planned and agreed with you in advance rather than appearing on an invoice afterwards. Express IT Solutions keeps no offices outside New York State.

Getting into the city, and what the I-81 work changes about it

The plain route is NY 5, which is the street the office is on. It leaves Fayetteville as East Genesee Street and arrives in Syracuse as Erie Boulevard East, so the simplest description of the trip is that there is one road and no puzzle. The straight line distance from 511 East Genesee St to downtown is 7.4 miles.

The complication is real and it is worth naming rather than pretending it away. The I-81 viaduct project is rebuilding how through traffic moves around and through the city, in phases, over several years. The practical effect on an on site visit is that the quickest approach to a downtown address is not a fixed thing and has not been for a while. So agree the arrival window when you book rather than assuming last year’s drive, and if the work is a cutover where Monday morning has to function, put the traffic into the plan rather than into the apology.

For anything that does not need a body in the room, the remote session skips the question entirely, and for a machine that can travel, the bench in Fayetteville is 7.4 miles away and does not sit in traffic.

What gets asked for here

What Syracuse addresses call about

A city address is more often a business with a network than a household with a laptop, so these four carry most of the work that comes out of Syracuse.

Networks, switching and cabling

Wired and wireless for offices and multi floor buildings, racks, switches, access points and the labelling that shortens the next visit. Business IT services

Security work that can be evidenced

Multi factor rollout, endpoint protection, email filtering, firewall and access review, and the clean up after an incident. Cybersecurity

Data recovery when a drive fails

Failed drives, dead arrays and deleted files, assessed before anything is promised about what comes back. Data recovery

On site repair at a city address

A technician at your desk for the machines that cannot leave the building, or the bench in Fayetteville for the ones that can. On site computer repair

What does it cost?

No figure is published on this page, because the honest number depends on what the work turns out to be. The rates and the plans live on three pages and nowhere else: managed IT pricing, home IT rates, and the hourly rate card on the booking page. Read those before you call and the call gets shorter. If a job in Syracuse turns out not to be worth doing, that is a thing we will say out loud rather than quote for.

Asked in Syracuse

Three questions Syracuse asks first

Do you have an office in Syracuse?

Yes. Express IT Solutions keeps a staffed office in the Equitable building downtown, at 120 Madison St, Suite 1000, alongside our original office at 511 East Genesee St, Suite 8A in Fayetteville, 7.4 miles east of downtown. We work on site at Syracuse addresses, we take machines in at the Fayetteville office, and we work remotely. What we do not do is claim a city address we do not hold.

How long has the company been working in Syracuse and Onondaga County?

Express Computer Service L.L.C. was filed on 13 May 2005 and has traded from the same address ever since, which is 21 years of one legal entity, now with offices in Fayetteville and downtown Syracuse. That is the whole claim. There is no franchise and no call centre, and the phone number on this page is the one that has been answered from Fayetteville the entire time.

Can you work in a leased office where the landlord controls the building?

Yes, and it is most of the city work. The part that needs sorting before anything is priced is ownership and access: who owns the cabling, where the carrier hands off, how the landlord wants a contractor to reach the riser or the roof, and who on site can approve a change if something is found mid job. Get those four answered and a city network job stops being unpredictable.

Either side of the city

Two of the places this office covers sit right on the city’s edge, one to the south and one to the north, and both are worked from the same Fayetteville base.

  • Jamesville. A hamlet on the town of DeWitt and town of Onondaga line, close enough to the city edge that it is effectively a Syracuse edge call.
  • Liverpool. A village in the town of Salina, north west of the city, where a mailing address and a municipality are not the same thing.

Every town this office covers is listed on the service areas page, nearest first. What clients say about the work is on the reviews page.

There is also a downtown Syracuse office

Express IT Solutions keeps a staffed office in the Equitable building downtown: 120 Madison St, Suite 1000, Syracuse, NY 13202. City businesses can work with the same team from either address – managed IT, business IT support, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, networking, and AI and workflow automation are handled for Syracuse companies from downtown and from Fayetteville, whichever suits the job.

  • The office: 120 Madison St, Suite 1000, Syracuse, NY 13202, in the Equitable building. Directions on Google Maps.
  • Call: (315) 682-6372 reaches the same people whichever office you have in mind.
  • Book: pick a time on the booking page and mention the downtown office if that is where you want to meet.

SERVING SYRACUSE

Need someone out to you in Syracuse?

Tell us what the machine or the network is doing, and whether you want it handled remotely, in our Fayetteville office, or on site at your address in Syracuse.

  • It goes to our office in Fayetteville, not a call centre.
  • Remote, in our office, or on site at your address.
  • You get a scope and a figure before anything is ordered or started.
So we can call you back about this.
A sentence is plenty. Rough is fine, we will ask the rest on the call.

We use this to reply to you and nothing else. No list, no sharing, no follow up you did not ask for.

If it is down right now, call instead

A form waits for someone to read it. If you cannot work at all, pick up the phone. That is faster.

The form is the better route for a quote to look over, a planned upgrade, or anything with a date on it.
