Business Microsoft 365, in your own tenant

Microsoft 365 support for Syracuse and Central New York businesses.

Most Central New York businesses already pay for Microsoft 365. Fewer get what they pay for. Licenses nobody uses, security settings still at their defaults, a tenant set up in one afternoon years ago by whoever had time. We manage Microsoft 365 for our own clients every day, and we support it the way we support everything else: from a real office at 511 East Genesee St in Fayetteville, on site across Upstate New York, on one number that reaches people who know your setup. Call (315) 682-6372.

Four jobs bring businesses to us about Microsoft 365: moving onto it, running it month to month, securing it, and getting a tenant ready for Copilot. This page covers all four, including what each costs.

Microsoft 365 support for business is the management of a company’s Microsoft 365 tenant: migration from Google Workspace, Exchange or hosted mailboxes, month-to-month administration of accounts and licensing, security work from multi-factor authentication and anti-spoof records to inbox-rule checks and admin-rights reviews, separate backup with tested restores, and permissions reviews before Copilot is switched on. The provider works in the business’s own tenant as an administrator the business can remove, so the tenant, the licenses, the domain and every mailbox stay with the business.

Moving to Microsoft 365 without losing a week of email

Migrations go wrong in boring ways. Mail records that point somewhere nobody remembered, mailboxes bigger than anyone thought, one shared calendar the whole company secretly runs on. So we start by finding those things, before anything moves.

Whether you are coming from Google Workspace, an aging Exchange server in a closet, or mailboxes at whoever hosts your website, the plan goes in writing first: what moves, in what order, when the switch happens, and what happens to the old system afterwards. You approve the plan before we touch anything, and the cutover is scheduled around your week, not ours.

Not a reseller

Running it month to month

A tenant is not finished when the mail flows. Somebody has to set up the new hire for their first morning, close accounts when people leave, keep licensing matched to the people actually working there, and answer the Tuesday afternoon question about a meeting room calendar. That is the unglamorous work we do daily.

  • Your tenant stays yours. We are not a license reseller. We work in your tenant as an administrator you can remove. If we ever part ways, the tenant, the licenses, the domain and every mailbox stay with you, documented.
  • Licensing gets reviewed, not just renewed. Plans still assigned to people who left, premium features nobody switched on, two subscriptions doing one job. Licensing is where money leaks quietly, and trimming it is often the first thing that pays for the support.
Yours. It stays that way.

Securing Microsoft 365

Email is where the expensive attacks land, and most of them need nothing more than a password and a default setting. Securing a tenant is specific work.

  • Multi-factor on every account, including the owner’s

The exception is almost always the account an attacker wants most.

  • Anti-spoof and authentication records configured, not left at default

The sending rules that stop someone forging your own domain at your own staff.

  • Inbox rules checked

An attacker with a stolen password rarely does anything loud. They add a quiet forwarding rule and read along until an invoice is worth redirecting. We wrote up how to check your own tenant for this.

  • Admin rights reviewed

Who can do everything, and whether they still should.

And backup, which deserves its own sentence. Microsoft keeps the service running, but retention is not backup. A deleted mailbox, a synced ransomware encryption or a departed employee’s OneDrive can pass beyond saving while everyone assumes the cloud has it. Microsoft 365 backup is included in our managed IT packages, with restores that get tested, because a backup nobody has restored from is a belief, not a backup. For the rest of the security picture beyond email, see cybersecurity for Central New York businesses.

Permissions before licenses

Copilot readiness, honestly

Copilot answers with anything the signed-in user can reach. That is the feature. In most tenants it is also the problem, because after years of sharing links and sites nobody reviewed, people can reach far more than anyone intends. Turn Copilot on in that tenant and the intern can ask it to summarize the salary spreadsheet.

Readiness is mostly permissions work: who can reach what, what got shared with the whole company by accident, what should be locked down before any AI reads it. We check that before Copilot goes on, and the cleanup pays off whether or not you ever buy a Copilot license. If the honest answer is that your tenant is not ready, you will hear that, with the list of what to fix. And if you want to go further than Copilot, AI is a practice here, not a sideline: see AI consulting and AI agents.

What it costs

Two published ways to pay, and you can check both before you call:

  • On a managed plan. Microsoft 365 management and backup are part of our business packages at $65, $80 or $99 per seat per month, alongside helpdesk, patching and security. For how the whole arrangement works, see managed IT services in Syracuse.
  • As a project or by the hour. Migrations, security reviews and one-off fixes run at $199 an hour remote and $219 an hour on site, billed in 30 minute increments from a published rate card. No retainer, no monthly minimum.

Most firms in this market publish no prices at all. We would rather you compare.

Questions businesses ask about Microsoft 365

The questions we actually get asked.

Do we have to buy our licenses through you?

No. We are not a reseller. You keep buying licenses in your own tenant, we make sure you are buying the right ones, and you can remove our admin access any day you choose.

Can you migrate us from Google Workspace or an old Exchange server?

Yes, both, and from plain hosted mailboxes too. The plan goes in writing before anything moves: what transfers, in what order, when the switch happens and what happens to the old system. The aim is a cutover your staff barely notice.

We already have Microsoft 365. Can you just sort out what we have?

Yes. We look before we change anything: licensing, security settings, admin rights, backup. You get a plain list of what we found, ordered by what matters, and a price in writing for anything worth fixing.

Is Microsoft 365 backed up automatically?

Not in the way most people assume. Retention keeps some things for some time, and none of it is designed to get a whole mailbox or a whole OneDrive back later. Separate backup is the fix. It is included in our managed packages, and the restores get tested.

What does Microsoft 365 support cost?

On a managed plan, it is part of $65, $80 or $99 per seat per month. As project or hourly work, $199 an hour remote and $219 an hour on site, in 30 minute increments. Both numbers are published, so you are never guessing.

Can you get us ready for Copilot?

We can tell you whether you are ready, which is the part most businesses skip. That means reviewing who can reach what in your tenant before an AI starts answering questions with it. If the answer is not yet, you get the list of what to fix, and the fixing is ordinary permissions work with value beyond Copilot.

We still have a server in the office. Is that a problem?

No. Plenty of Central New York businesses run one stubborn application on site and everything else in Microsoft 365. We support the mix, and if the honest answer is that the server should stay, we will not push it to the cloud for the sake of a project.
