What the work in Tully actually looks like
Tully village is small, and small does not mean simple. It means one household or one business is a larger share of the street, and it means the answer to a problem is more often somebody driving than somebody around the corner.
The smallest place on this site
The FCC’s fixed broadband summary counts 526 units inside the village boundary, against 1,581 in Minoa and 1,231 in Cazenovia. That is the scale we are talking about, and it is why the honest first question on a Tully call is whether the fault can be described well enough to be fixed without a drive.
Village work
Inside the village the work is ordinary and we do plenty of it: machines, printers, home networks, phones and tablets, virus and malware removal, and data recovery from a drive that has already failed rather than one that is about to.
Lake and town road work
The town wraps around the village and holds the Tully Lakes, a chain of five: Tully, Green, Crooked, Jerry’s and Mirror. Properties out there are spread out on larger parcels, and the work changes from repair to coverage. Getting a signal from the house to the garage, or to a camera at the end of a drive, is a placement and cabling job.
Winter changes the route, not the service
From late autumn the first question on a Tully call is whether the fix needs a road at all. Remote first is not a brush off at 24 miles, it is the fastest way to a working machine, and we say plainly when it is not going to do the job.
Because the drive is 28 minutes rather than eight, we will normally try to fix it remotely first, and we will tell you when that is not going to work rather than making two trips out of one job. That is not a policy about you, it is arithmetic about the road.
Getting there, and getting online
I-81 south is the route: 24.2 miles and about 28 minutes off peak, Google Maps queried on 17 August 2026. There is a shorter way through Sweet Road and Berwyn Road at 19.6 miles which takes about a minute longer, and that tells you most of what you need to know about the difference between distance and drive. Straight line the two points are 16.9 miles apart. In a lake effect band the interstate is usually the road that stays open and the back roads are usually the ones that do not, so in bad weather the longer route is the sensible one.
The connection picture is the surprise. Tully village is one of the better served places in Onondaga County. FCC figures with data as of 31 December 2025 show 68.3 percent of residential units in the village able to get fibre at 100 Mbps down and 20 up, and 68.4 percent able to reach a gigabit class service, against a county wide gigabit figure of 11.5 percent. Cable covers 96.8 percent of village units.
| Measure | Tully village | Onondaga County |
|---|---|---|
| Fibre at 100 Mbps down, 20 up | 68.3 percent | 70.1 percent |
| Gigabit class, any wired technology | 68.4 percent | 11.5 percent |
| Cable at 100 Mbps down, 20 up | 96.8 percent | 95.3 percent |
| Any terrestrial service at 100 down, 20 up | 99.8 percent | 98.5 percent |

Outside the village line, on the town roads and around the lakes, that does not hold, and it is where satellite stops being a last resort and starts being the sensible answer. Ask what is actually available at your parcel before you assume it either way, because the village figure and the town figure are not the same number.
How far do you travel, and where is the office?
We work on site across all of Upstate New York, from our one office at 511 East Genesee St in Fayetteville. Clients who run more than one office are covered at every location, and where a location is far enough that driving does not make sense, that includes travel by air. Travel is planned and agreed with you in advance rather than appearing on an invoice afterwards. Express IT Solutions keeps no offices outside New York State.
What does it cost?
No figures live on this page, because a figure without a scope is a guess. What is published sits in three places: managed IT pricing for a business on a monthly plan, home computer rates for household work, and booking when you already know what you need and want it in the diary. Anything outside those is quoted in writing before it starts.
The work Tully actually calls about
Four pages rather than a list of everything we own a screwdriver for. At this distance the sensible order is whatever reduces the number of drives: connectivity that holds, machines that keep working, and data you can still read when one does not.
Residential IT and computer repair
Machines, home networks, printers, phones and tablets, and the setup that moves everything onto a replacement without losing it.
On site and in store repair
Hardware repair, screen repair, upgrades and virus removal, either at your address or dropped at the office in Fayetteville.
Starlink rentals
Satellite internet by the week, the month or the season for a site with no usable wired connection, collected in Fayetteville or shipped.
Data recovery
Because at this distance the cheapest visit is the one that never has to happen, and the drive you can still read is worth more than the one you cannot.
Everywhere else we work is listed on service areas, and remote support is the one that never has to look at the weather on I-81.
Over 21 years, one company, one address.
Most of what goes wrong with an IT supplier is not technical. It is that the company changed hands, the person who knew your setup left, or the number now reaches somebody four states away who has to read your file before they can speak.

What people in Tully ask before they call
You are 28 minutes away. Do you actually come to Tully?
Yes, and the drive is exactly why we ask questions on the phone first. It is 24.2 miles on I-81 south, about 28 minutes without weather. Anything that can be fixed in a remote session gets fixed that way because it starts sooner, and anything that needs hands gets a visit. What we will not do is send somebody to look at a problem a good description would have answered.
What happens in a snow band?
Remote first, then on site once the road is right. Lake effect bands here are narrow and heavy, and the interstate is normally clearer than the back roads, so the longer route on I-81 is often the faster one. If your office cannot wait, say that on the phone and we will plan around it rather than promise a time nobody can keep in a whiteout.
Is the internet out here good enough for cloud backup?
Inside the village, usually yes. FCC data as of 31 December 2025 puts 68.3 percent of village residential units within reach of fibre at 100 down and 20 up, which is above the county wide gigabit picture by a distance. Outside the village it thins out, and on the town roads a satellite link is often the honest answer rather than a compromise. We rent the kit as well as install networks around it.
Nearby
Tully is the far southern end of the run. These are the two pages north of it on the same corridor.
One address, and you can come to it.
511 East Genesee St, Suite 8A, Fayetteville, NY 13066. Twenty eight minutes north on I-81 and I-481, which is worth knowing if a machine is easier to carry than a technician is to schedule. The map at the bottom of every page points at the same door.
TELL US WHERE YOU ARE AND WHAT IS WRONG
Describe it in your own words.
The street or the road you are on, what stopped working, and whether it is a house, a home office or a business. That is enough for us to tell you whether it is a remote fix, a drop off, or a visit.
- It goes to our office in Fayetteville, not a call centre.
- You are told whether a visit is even the right answer.
- If it is not worth doing, we will tell you that too.
If something is down right now, call instead
A form waits for someone to read it. An outage does not wait for anything, so if your office is off the air, pick up the phone. That is faster and it costs you less of the day.
The form is the better route for a job with a date on it, a quote to look over, or anything you would rather write down than explain.
(315) 682-6372Tell us what has stopped working.
Call. If it can be fixed without a drive, we will say so. One phone call and you will know whether it is a remote session, a machine that should come to the office, or a visit, and roughly what shape the work takes.
Free first call. We will tell you straight if the answer is that it is not worth doing.
